Repairing Carbon Frames

We are proud to offer the benefit of our 20 years experience with composites to the owners of all carbon bike frames. Many major carbon frame companies refer riders to us for their frame repairs, and to help solve design issues. Hundreds of bike shops from across the U.S., Canada, Asia, and Europe have been able to provide their customers with an affordable alternative to Crash Replacements.

Our unique molding process uses the best quality 3k carbon fiber weave to create forms that are shapely, lightweight, and extremely strong. From minor scratches to stuck seatposts to frames destroyed by the dreaded endo or that startling encounter with the garage door; we've repaired over 2,100 frames since 2003.

A few examples of how typical seatstay repairs looks, showing how it is smooth but the carbon pattern is not perfectly matching on clearcoated frames:

Calfee Design offers professional touch up paint to return frames to their original appearance. We even repaint frames with any design you can dream of, from complete factory replications (why not have this year's paint job?) to full custom paint schemes. We can even design it for you.

Fork Inspection: We do inspect forks for symmetry and structural integrity. We have solved chronic speed wobble by replacing asymmetrical carbon forks. Click Here to see the inspection we do for symmetry.

Estimates: Occasionally we may elect to solve problems caused by poor design, either through reinforcement, modification, or simple elbow grease. However, we may also opt to reject such projects. Frequently rejected repair requests are ones that involve aluminum-to-carbon bonding, carbon handlebars, forks, and damage involving the braking surface of carbon wheels.

Email repairs@calfeedesign.com for information on estimates and lead times. All email and telephone estimates are non-binding. On average, the process takes around 30 days, but varies with volume of business and the complexity of your project. Have a look at the repair form first.
